Thai Headline Inflation Unexpectedly Slows to 0.84% in March

In March, Thailand’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) headline increased by 0.84% year-on-year, falling below expectations, as reported by the commerce ministry on Friday.

The previous month had seen a 1.08% annual rise. This figure was lower than the 1.0% forecast in a Reuters poll and exceeded the central bank’s inflation target range of 1% to 3%. Meanwhile, the core CPI saw a 0.86% year-on-year increase in March, slightly below the anticipated 1.0% rise.
