Thai Energy Tycoon ‘Sarath Ratanavadi’ Increases Stake in GULF to Hold over 29%

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reported through the Form 59, a report of changes in the securities and future contract holdings by executives, that Mr. Sarath Ratanavadi, CEO of Gulf Development Public Company Limited (SET: GULF), has purchased shares of GULF for his personal portfolio in two transactions between April 3-4, 2025. 

On April 3, Mr. Sarath acquired 510,700 shares at THB 48.75 per share, with a transaction value of THB 24.90 million. Subsequently, on April 4, the CEO acquired an additional 35,000,000 shares at THB 46.49 per share, amassing a transaction value of THB 1,627 million.

In total, Mr. Sarath purchased 35,510,700 shares, equivalent to a 0.24% stake, with a combined value of THB 1,652 million. According to data on major shareholders submitted to the Stock Exchange of Thailand as of April 1, 2025, Mr. Sarath held 4,327,148,478 shares, equivalent to 28.96% of the total shareholdings. With the additional purchase, his stake increased to 4,362,659,178 shares, representing 29.20% of the voting rights in the company.
