KKP reported a net profit of Baht 1,062 million, representing a 29.5% decline from 1Q24.The decline was primarily attributable to a decrease in net interest income, which contracted by 15.4% YoY due to a slowdown in loan growth in line with the Bank’s strategic focus on asset quality, emphasizing loan growth in high-quality segments and partly from the decline in interest rates following policy rate reductions.
For 1Q25, net interest income amounted to Baht 4,446 million, a decrease of 15.4% compared to the same period in 2024. The decline was primarily due to lower interest income of 12.0% as a result of loan contractions, consistent with the Bank’s strategic focus on asset quality, emphasizing loan growth in high-quality segments, reduction in interest rates following the decline in policy rate and partly from the Bank’s assistance to customers as part of the relief measure “Khun Soo, Rao Chuay” program. Interest expenses also gradually declined by 5.2%. Consequently, loan spread in 1Q25 narrowed to 4.6%, down from 4.9% in 1Q24.
