The rating of Joe Biden, the U.S. President, in a public poll before the Nov. 8 midterm elections edged higher this week.
The national poll found that 41% of Americans approve of Biden’s job performance, up from 39% last week. In May and June, the president’s popularity was as low as 36%, which drove his democratic party to lose control. Biden’s term since his official inauguration day in January 2021 has been marked by the economic crisis, starting with the Covid-19 outbreak, rising inflation and potential recession.
The poll asked about the nation’s biggest problems and gathered responses from 1,004 adults, including 469 Democrats and 367 Republicans. The top concerns for Republicans were immigration and crime, while the top concerns for Democrats were crime and the end of national abortion rights.
