French President Emmanuel Macron at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Bangkok on Friday called on Asian countries to join the “increasing consensus” against the war in Ukraine.
“This war is also your problem, because it will create a lot of destabilization,” Macron, who attended the summit as the special guest of Thailand’s prime minister, told business leaders on the sidelines of the Pacific Rim forum.
Macron also called for an end to “confrontation” in Asia as he described France’s engagement approach with the region. “We don’t believe in hegemony, we don’t believe in confrontation, we believe in stability,” he added.
