President Trump Expected to Announce Tariff Compromise Deals with Canada and Mexico

The anticipated deals may involve a reduction, at least partially, of the newly imposed 25% tariffs on imports from both countries. Lutnick mentioned that these compromises could be disclosed as early as tomorrow during an appearance on “Fox Business.”

Although no specific details were provided by the Cabinet secretary regarding the concessions Trump might make, he hinted that the U.S. president would be open to finding a middle ground with Canada and Mexico. Lutnick also indicated that Trump is unlikely to completely lift the tariffs.

The Trump administration reinstated substantial 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico on Tuesday, following a one-month pause.
