Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) and Praram 9 Hospital have announced a groundbreaking collaboration to develop financial products aimed at promoting sustainability-focused businesses. Praram 9 Hospital is the first private hospital to join SCB’s “Sustainability Deposit” initiative, aligning its operations with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to sustainable development and minimizing environmental impacts, particularly in advancing the Net Zero emissions goal by 2050.
Mr. Rungsan Ongsaranakom, First Executive Vice President of the Corporate Banking 3 Function at SCB, explained that the Sustainable Deposit is a fixed deposit account available in various currencies, including Thai baht, US dollars, and euros. The product serves as a key mechanism to fund projects aimed at reducing environmental impacts and greenhouse gas emissions. This initiative aligns with SCB’s goal to lead sustainable lending in Thailand, targeting 150 billion baht in sustainable loans by 2025. It underscores the bank’s mission to support customers across all sectors in transitioning to a more sustainable future, reinforcing SCB’s commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.
Dr. Satian Pooprasert, Chief Executive Officer of Praram 9 Hospital, stated, “This partnership represents a significant step towards promoting sustainable economic and social development.
