International travel will return to pre-Covid levels around six months as countries begin to reopen for tourists, said AirAsia chief executive Tony Fernandes.
In an interview with CNBC, the Malaysian airline CEO said that he believes that the Covid-19 situation is at the beginning of the end and noted that the recovery has already begun, seeding airplanes flying domestic Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, compared to none in 2020.
“The demand has been very, very robust,” he said.
Still, the CEO weighed on the reopening in China that continues to be a big question as Beijing is still pursuing the zero-Covid policy.
